Creative at Heart

Welcome — I’m glad you’re here. Creating art is a way of connecting for me: to places I’ve lived, to experiences that have shaped me, and to the people who have inspired and supported me. As an artist, I draw inspiration from life in both - bustling urban cultures such as London, and the calm of natural landscapes often while abroad. Having lived and worked in many parts of the world, I am continually fascinated by contrast — between chaos and calm, movement and stillness, structure and freedom. I love working with my hands — pushing paint, layering textures, and carving into surfaces to explore the interplay of light, space, and energy. The result is art that feels alive and instinctive, yet anchored by careful observation. Mainly I work across three techniques. On large canvases, I explore scale and movement where colour becomes a language of adventure, freedom, and emotional release. On hardwood panels, I work exploring different materials in layers, creating tactile surfaces that reveal traces of process and imperfection; these quieter, more contemplative pieces invite pause and reflection. My screen prints merge the painterly with the graphic — bold, vibrant works that celebrate rhythm, repetition, and design. My creative process is deeply connected to how I experience the world — constantly navigating change, seeking balance, and finding beauty in imperfection. Having raised three children largely on my own while building a professional life, my practice is grounded in resilience, discipline, and an enduring sense of curiosity. The art I make carries that lived energy — raw yet refined, strong yet sensitive.

Artist Bio

Kira is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of art, design, and material exploration. Originally from Germany and based in London since 2000, her practice has evolved through an international marketing career and years in property design and development, alongside continuous study at leading art schools in London. This ongoing commitment to learning and experimentation has played a key role in refining her practice and encouraging the exploration of new techniques and materials, shaping a distinctive sensitivity to space, form, and visual balance. With a lifelong foundation in the arts, Kira brings a broad creative perspective to her work. She moves fluidly across three core approaches — expressive large-scale paintings on canvas, tactile mixed-media works on wood, and vibrant monotype screen prints — continually expanding her visual language while maintaining a cohesive and recognisable voice. Kira completed her MA at the Royal Academy of Arts in 2024 and was shortlisted for the 2025 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Her work has been exhibited and collected internationally across Europe and the United States. Through collaborations with gallerists, collectors, and interior designers, she creates work that activates spaces, inviting energy, reflection, and a sense of quiet joy.
