Based in London, Kira Behnert’s practice explores the relationship between gesture, colour and spatial presence through painting, mixed media and works on paper. In my art practice, I draw inspiration from bustling urban cultures as much as from the calm of natural landscapes. The contrast between chaos and calm, movement and stillness continually fascinates me.
My creative process is deeply connected to experience — navigating change, seeking balance, and finding beauty in imperfection. The art carries that lived energy — raw yet refined, strong yet sensitive.
As multidisciplinary artist I work at the intersection of art, design, and material exploration. Different media allow me to move fluidly across three core approaches — expressive large-scale paintings on canvas, tactile mixed-media works on wood, and vibrant monotype screen prints.
