ABOUT THE ARTIST
Creative at Heart
— Creating art is a way of connecting — to places lived, experiences that shape, and the people who inspire. Originally from Germany and based in London since 2000, Kira draws inspiration from bustling urban cultures and the calm of natural landscapes, continually fascinated by contrast between chaos and calm, movement and stillness. Her creative process is deeply connected to experience — navigating change, seeking balance, and finding beauty in imperfection. The art carries that lived energy — raw yet refined, strong yet sensitive. Kira is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of art, design, and material exploration. She moves fluidly across three core approaches — expressive large-scale paintings on canvas, tactile mixed-media works on wood, and vibrant monotype screen prints — maintaining a cohesive and recognisable voice. Alongside her studio practice, her background in design and property refurbishment informs a strong sensitivity to space, materiality, and how artworks inhabit interiors. Behnert completed a Master’s in Cultural Leadership at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, in 2024. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in Miami, London, Brussels, and Amsterdam, and at major art fairs such as Affordable Art Fair and The Other Art Fair. In 2025 she was shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and her works are held in private collections across Europe and the United States.
